Academy Classes
Classes in the Academy are offered for students ages six and up.
Primary: 1 hour 15 minutes combination class consisting of 45 minutes ballet and 30 minutes tap. Primary students are also eligible for hip hop kids, primary jazz technique, acrobatics and group voice.
Level 1: 1 hour 30 minutes combination class consisting of 1 hour ballet and 30 minutes tap/jazz. Level 1 students are also eligible for level 1 ballet technique, level 1 jazz technique, beginning tap technique, level 1 lyrical, hip hop, aerial dance, acrobatics and group voice.
Suggested Classes: one additional level one ballet technique class
Level 1 invitational “1i”: 4 hour combination class consisting of 2 hours ballet, 1 hour tap and 1 hour jazz. A teacher’s recommendation is required for enrollment. Level 1 “I” students are also eligible for level 1 ballet technique, level 1i jazz technique, beginning tap technique, level 1i lyrical, hip hop, aerial dance, acrobatics and group voice.
Suggested Classes: Additional Jazz technique or lyrical class
Level 2: 2 hour combination class consisting of 1 hour ballet and 1 hour tap/jazz. Level 2 students are also eligible for level 2 ballet technique, level 2 jazz technique, beginning tap technique, level 2 lyrical, hip hop, aerial dance, acrobatics and group voice.
Suggested Classes: One additional ballet technique class and a tap or jazz technique class
Level 2 invitational “2i”: 3 hour combination class consisting of 1 hour ballet, 1 hour jazz and 1 hour tap. A teacher’s recommendation is required for enrollment. Level 2 “I” students are also eligible for level 2i ballet technique, level 2i jazz technique, intermediate tap technique, level 2i lyrical, hip hop, aerial dance, acrobatics, and group voice.

Level 4 invitational “4i”: 3 hour 30 minutes combination class consisting of 1 hour 15 minutes ballet, 1 hour 15 minutes of jazz and 1 hour tap. A teacher’s recommendation is required for enrollment. Level 4 “I” students are also eligible for level 4i ballet technique/pre-pointe, level 4i jazz technique, intermediate tap technique, level 4i lyrical/contemporary, hip hop, aerial dance, acrobatics and group voice.

Pointe: For the safety and well-being of our dancers, pointe classes are by invitation only. Invitations are based upon age, experience, physical and technical development of the dancer and overall classroom behavior and attendance. New Pointe students are recommended in both the fall and spring of each school term. To maintain proper technique, all CAPA Pointe students must attend a minimum of THREE weekly ballet classes in addition to their weekly pointe class.
