• Tuition is due the first of the month and will be considered late on the 10th of every month. There is a $15.00 late fee for all late tuition. Invoices are sent ONLY to delinquent accounts with the $15 fee already added.
  • Tuition will be charged by one of our two automatic payment options; pre-authorized debit from your bank account or automatic credit card charge on the first day of every month from September through July. A separate Automatic Payment Consent Form must be filled out. Credit card or bank debit payments are not accepted for in-person payments on a monthly basis. An optional method of payment is payment of the year’s tuition in advance by check, bank debit or credit card. There is no discount applicable for payment of the year’s tuition in advance.
  • Incidental fees such as costumes, merchandise, etc. can be paid by check, cash or credit card.
  • Tuition will be charged monthly whether a student is present or not. Failure to pay tuition may result in the dancer being dropped from the class. There will be no discounts or refunds given for missed classes; however make-up classes are available.
  • All tuition payments, costume charges, registration and recital fees are Non-Refundable and Non-Transferable.
  • There is a $25 fee for all returned checks and returned/declined debit and credit card payments.
  • All students must adhere to the dress code and student responsibility guidelines as set out in the dancer's handbook.
  • To Drop a Class, students must do the following:
    1. Obtain a drop form from the front desk.
    2. Present the drop form to the instructor and get his/her signature.
    3. Return the drop form to the front desk by the last day of the student’s final month of attendance. Please Note: If a drop form is turned in on or after the 1st of the month, the entire month’s tuition will be due.
    4. As a courtesy, students are provided a two-month period (the first two months of enrollment at CAPA) in which they can drop a class without any drop penalties. After the two-month period has ended, students/parents will be responsible for tuition throughout the entire session concluding with July 2008. Students and families on the unlimited plans will be charged $20/class(es) for the remaining months through the conclusion of the session in July, beginning with the 2nd class dropped. Please Note: A written medical statement must be submitted by the student/parent prior to requesting permission to drop a class for illness or injury.
    5. Dropping a class will result in forfeiture of all tuition payments, make-up classes, registration and recital fees. Any ordered costumes can be picked up in June, 2008. As of July 1, 2008, all unclaimed costumes will be donated to charity.

General Guidelines

Overview

One of the main goals at CAPA is to develop a sense of discipline and pride in our students. For this reason, all students are expected to maintain a neat appearance and to abide by the specified dress code for their level and/or class. Each dress code is designed to suit the style of dance or discipline being learned. All Pre-Academy, Academy and Intensive Academy ballet students must wear the appropriate color of leotard according to the CAPA dress code for each of their ballet classes. This not only creates a disciplined learning environment free from distractions but also provides students with a strong sense of pride and accomplishment as they progress through each level of classical ballet. Students have tangible evidence of their achievement.

Proper Care of Dance Shoes

Please note that all dance shoes, whether ballet slippers, jazz shoes or hip-hop sneakers, should never be worn outside the buildings as dirt can become embedded in the soles and damage the dance floors.

All ballet slippers should fit snugly, the drawstrings tied in a knot, the excess cut off, and then tucked in. Elastics must be properly sewn in. Elastics that have been tied under the foot are unacceptable. This can cut off the circulation of blood as well as causing the line of the foot to become distorted.

A ballet slipper that fits correctly is essential to the proper development of the foot. Therefore, buying ballet slippers, or any dance shoes that are a little too big to allow for growth, is not beneficial. If you are unsure about the fit, your child’s teacher will be glad to guide you in process.

Hair

For all dance classes, hair must be pulled back off the face and securely fastened as specified for each class. It is advisable to keep a supply of extra bobby pins, bun accessories and hair spray in student’s dance bag at all times.
