Because ballet is the foundation for all forms of dance, all CAPA pre-academy, academy and intensive academy dance students are required to take at least one weekly ballet class per year. This can be a combination or technique class. Those enrolled in classes in the open academy and/or classes designated tumbling/acrobatics, hip hop, boys, pre-teen and teen are strongly encouraged to study ballet, but are not required. If you would like help determining your child’s schedule, please contact us at 805-383-6446 to make an appointment.

To maintain proper technique, all CAPA Pointe students must attend a minimum of THREE weekly ballet classes in addition to their weekly pointe class. |

While dancers are strongly encouraged to enroll in ALL classes designated as “Intensive”, a minimum of three weekly ballet/Pointe classes is a requirement. Students wishing to perform in a jazz/lyrical piece must also be enrolled in the appropriate Intensive Jazz leaps and turns technique. |
The Open Academy offers our dancers fun and classes of exceptional quality at CAPA. This is a wonderful option for students who love to learn and perform but due to time constraints are unable to complete the requirements in the “academy” or “intensive academy” programs. CAPA offers classes for pre-teens (ages 8-12) and teens (ages 13 and up). Also included in the OPEN ACADEMY are tumbling/acrobatics and hip hop classes.
